In the untouched seclusion of a remote, idyllic valley in the western corridor of the Serengeti National Park, east of Lake Victoria, lies the tented Grumeti River Camp.
Flanked by two hillsides, this blissful camp nestles beneath tall riverine trees on the banks of an oxbow tributary of the Grumeti River. It is one of the wildest and most remote camps in Africa's greatest wildlife sanctuary, the Serengeti.
Location
Situated in the remote western corridor of the Serengeti National Park. This unspoilt wilderness is not only famous for its river, but also for the thousands of animals that wade across it every year during the 'Great Migration'.
Facilities
Offers a dining room, open front sitting area, a bar and boma serving delicious Pan African gourmet meals prepared on traditional stone ovens. Leisure facilities include a swimming pool, local safari shop, game drives, sundowners, bird watching and a reading room. You may wish to take one of the optional extras: excursion to Lake Victoria – the second largest lake in the world or a community visit.
The lodge is closed in April.
