The first stop on this 10-night safari is in Ruaha National Park which offers a compelling combination of stunning scenery, rugged landscapes and animal variety. Our stay here is in superbly located

Then fly west to Katavi, located close to Lake Tanganyika and Mahale Mountains National Park but miles from virtually everywhere else! Katavi is
undeveloped and full of wild animals, and hard to beat for a pure wilderness safari.
Finally onto Mahale which provides unparalleled opportunities to witness wild groups of chimpanzees in an exceptional natural environment. This vast
stretch of tropical forested National Park sits alongside the fresh waters of Lake Tanganyika, which also offers snorkelling and fishing.

On arrival at Dar es Salaam met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight: Holiday Inn Hotel.
Fly to Ruaha and transfer to the Ruaha River Lodge which occupies a unique position set around a series of rocky kopjes (hills) in a bend in the Great Ruaha River. Rooms are made from local stone and thatch. After lunch an afternoon game drive.
A full day of game viewing with picnic lunch. Ruaha hosts vast concentrations of buffalo, gazelle, and over 400 bird species, and elephant herds which amble through ancient grazing lands.

Fly to Katavi. Katavi Wildlife Camp has 6 tents set back amongst the trees. After lunch an afternoon game drive.

Fly to Mahale and transfer by boat to the camp which has 10 luxury tented bandas raised on wooden platforms.
At least one chimp trek will be arranged during these two days. Other activities that can be arranged include fishing, boating and snorkelling (payable locally).

Light aircraft baggage allowance - 15 kg. Children aged 7 and below are not permitted on this safari. Children under 12 are not allowed to view the chimpanzees.
