Mara Toto, a small, intimate camp, is situated on a bend in the Ntiakitiak River, just a few kilometres from its big sister Mara Plains Camp.
Cleverly hidden in the thick riverine forest overlooking the panoramic savannah in the north-central section of the Masai Mara, the camp has been constructed to have minimum impact on its surrounds. The camp is in prime leopard territory and the annual wildebeest and zebra migration passes in front of your tent, where you can watch one of nature's great events from the comfort of your verandah. Mara Toto, in keeping with the standards of Great Plains properties, offers among the widest range of activities anywhere in the greater Masai Mara – extensive game drives, authentic local village visits and unrivalled access to superior wildlife habitats as well as visits to local schools and Great Plains community projects.
There are just 5 uniquely designed tents on slightly raised decking. Each has a large bedroom with either a double or twin beds, with dressing area and small seating area. En suite bathrooms have flush toilet, double brass basin and a bucket shower. Hot water is provided on demand for showers, and a thermos of hot water is always at the ready. Cold water is plumbed to the vanities. The power system does not support hairdryers, shavers or any high wattage devices.
