The property, a working cattle farm, is situated in untamed bush, boasting views that extend for hundreds of miles – to Mount Kenya, the Lolldaiga Hills and the Mathews Range.
Exclusive to Loisaba, each Star Bed is a raised, hand-crafted wooden platform sculpted into a kopje of rocks and semi-covered with a thatched roof. Natural 'Mukokoteni beds' can either be wheeled out onto the uncovered area for a night under the stars, or left under the shelter of the roof. Accessible only by camel, horseback or on foot, guests are guided by a team of traditional guides to the sites.

Koija star beds are located 30 minutes from Loisaba Lodge on the banks of the Ewaso Niro River (2 adults and 1 child). These are situated over the flowing river and are reached by footbridge from the opposite bank.
